Player's Perspective
G&L's Tribute series instruments sound, play and feel about three times better than their price suggests. If you make a habit of comparing price points, you can stop, because there isn't much that can compete with G&L's low/mid-priced instruments. This ASAT Classic offers a time-tested design with everything you need for great tone and feel without anything that'll slow you down. It's a player's guitar, ready to be abused night after night and still perform just fine. The sound is that unmistakable singing, woody and articulate voice that has kept the ASAT at the forefront of the electric world for years. The feel is great as well. It's the type of neck and string feel that is instantly recognizable to players of all stripes. Clean or distorted, this guitar will deliver night after night, and it won't empty your bank account in the process. A great find.
Item Details
This G&L Tribute ASAT Classic features a translucent orange finish on a swamp ash body. The medium C shape neck is maple, and it features a maple fretboard with a 9" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets and dot inlays. Electronically, this guitar features the same pickups as its American-made counterpart. Yup, you read that sentence correctly. There's a G&L MFD single coil in the bridge and neck. This pickup is a staple of the electric guitar world. It encompasses all the best parts of American tone into one single coil design. You can expect responsive, lively tone that'll hold up to whatever you throw at it. The traditional boxed-steel bridge with individual brass saddles along with the 18:1 ratio tuning keys will keep everything locked down no matter how far you bend.
If you're not looking to empty your bank account on a guitar but you want to sound like you did, this is the way to go.
